Meatchoppers - M15A1 and M16 aaHT improved

US M2HB .50cal HMGs

The .50cal is modelled more like a mortar than an MG. It cannot fire without an ammo counter, and these 1PP ammo counters represent only 2 x 100 round boxes. Ergo, a single gun will run through a counter in about 12 shots. A 5 man crew could just move the dismantled gun and 2 ammo counters. When used in a ground role these monster HMGs are not really portable without a vehicle. ASL allows these MGs to be moved quite easily but the ammo is very heavy (100 rounds - 16kg) so though the gun and tripod might be no heavier than a water cooled M1917, the ammunition is.

Baraque de Fraiture new units

These rather blurry images are clear if clicked on and enlarged.

I'm quite pleased with the result. I trimmed some of the woods from the edges, on the assumption that these would only be assembly areas for German troops and this can be done in my holding boxes. I can't see US troops being put out to ambush positions! I am now working on the various counter modification (snow camo!) and new units - meatchoppers and 105mm howitzers. Pictures of these to follow.
