It rapidly became clear when playing the attacks on the afternoon of 20th December 1944 that I needed room to deploy the Volksgrenadiers behind the treeline to the East and also to allow them to move in the woods out of US LOS. They are still vulnerable here (to US 105s firing blindly into the forest). If I had abstracted this and allowed Germans to move off board it would be too big an advantage.
