The Germans spread out into the darkness while the US struggle to bring some firepower to bear. I like the way my rules for activation encourage units to spread out rather than bunch up in a 'phalanx'. A diffuse attack (or defense) is harder for a few weapons to neutralise. While one area is pinned down another can be creeping forward. This is further compounded if the weapons have limited covered arcs.
